Q: What should I expect from my home inspection?

A complete home inspection includes a thorough visual inspection of the house from top to bottom:

Electrical Systems
Radon Testing
Plumbing & Fixtures
Termite Inspections
Roofing
Ground’s Adequacy for Drainage
Cracks in Bricks or Siding, & Other Structure Exterior Issues

Q: What information should I have before scheduling an inspection?

It is helpful if you have the following information available:
– Property address
– Age of property
– Type of foundation (i.e. crawlspace, slab, or basement)
– Whether the property is occupied or vacant (if vacant; are the utilities on?)
– Realtor Information (agent’s name and phone number)

Q: What is the cost of an inspection?

Pricing varies based on the square footage and age of the home as well as any testing that needs to be completed during the inspection.

Q: How long is an inspection?

The average inspection takes 2 – 4 hours. The amount of time taken depends on the size, age, and condition of the home/property.

Q: When do I schedule an inspection?

When you have a written agreement to purchase the property and it has been finalized.

Q: Do I need to be present during the inspection?

It is not required to be present at the inspection, however, it is strongly encouraged that you be present at the end of the inspection to do a walk-through. This will allow us to point out the items that will be addressed in the home inspection report and answer any questions.

Q: What do I get once the inspection is complete?

At the end of the inspection you will receive our computerized report via email. In the report, we will provide detailed information regarding everything present within the home. We will give information regarding any repairs needed within the home. The report will also contain images of the property, specifically images showing any damages within the home.
